GAMEPROS

Hearthstone Championship Series

It is time to uncover some of the things we have planned for you in 2019. As we said before we try to improve and expand our our activities to organise even better events like we did before.

GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series

Of course we will continue to host the well-known GamePros Hearthstone Fireside Gatherings. However, this year we will change things up a bit to attract more participants to our events. Along side these events we will try to grow our Hearthstone community. The more the merrier am I right?

First off. We changed the GamePros Hearthstone Fireside Gatherings to the GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series. The idea behind the Championship Series is as follows: Participants will earn points based on their result during an event which will add up in a general ranking for that year. Positions in the ranking will be processed after each event and will be published on our website. Eventually the top 8 players of this ranking will be invited for a grand final at the end of the year. The champion will, next to a prize, earn eternal glory in our hall of fame. Honestly, who doesn’t want that?!

Online events

Next to the offline Hearthstone Fireside Gatherings we want to host online competitive Hearthstone tournaments. These will also be a part of the GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series so there will be also a possibility to earn points for our ranking.
These events will be organised with Battlefy – an application we already use during our current events. During an online tournament will we stream certain matches live on Twitch as is common on our events. And yes we will add a delay so there won’t be any ‘stream sniping’.

This is a new step for us and we look forward to our first online event. A date has yet to be determined, but in any case you’re updated about our future online events. One benefit of online events is these events are more accessible, which should increase the number of participants. We can’t look in to the future, but we secretly assume this will be the case.
