GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series 2019 | Online Qualifier 6
On Friday, June 14, 2019, there was another edition of the GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series events, the sixth edition already. Time flies! This edition is a so called “Online Qualifier”, as where the tournament will beheld completely online. Just like previous events players could earn points for the GamePros Championship Series ranking 2019. The top 8 players will compete in the Grand Finals at the end of 2019 for great prizes and the coveted title: winner of the GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series 2019.
Tournament progress
On this hot and sunny day everyone was ready and the tournament could begin! A total of 16 players registered on the Battlefy website but unfortunately 4 players weren’t checked in on time to participate. So we had to start with 11 participants on the GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series 2019 | Online Qualifier 6.
About 19:00 Pascal our admin did a final check and everything was in order. The brackets were seeded and the casters came out of the make-up room before the starting signal was given. On our way to another great tournament!
In the first round of the tournament there were a number of BYEs so some players didn’t have to play. Is this a good thing or not? At the one hand as a player you will “automaticity” advance to the next round, but on the other hand you haven’t had the chance to warm up. Anyway, there were a total of three matches in the first round of the tournament: ElFabrizio vs HenryStark (0-2), Buymann vs CupRum (2-1) and Bono vs Steef (2-0). This resulted in the advancement of HenryStark, Buymann and Bono to the next round of the winners bracket. The other players went on to the losers bracket for a shot at redemption
Winners bracket FTW?
There were a couple of entertaining matches in the second round. Mcmkiller played against HenryStark, a match eventually won by HenryStark with a 2-1 victory. Disciple vs Enemis resulted in a 2-0 victory for Disciple. Jkirek was just strong enough to beat Buymann with 2-1 and SMOrc beat Bono with 2-0. On towards the third round!
HenryStark played against Disciple and soon we discovered that HenryStark was the stronger opponent. In a short time he knew to beat Disciple with a steady 2-0 victory. The other semi final was between Jkirek and SMOrc, players who went met before on other GamePros events. Only one player could bring in the bag and it turned out it was Jkirek. He won from SMOrc with a 2-0 victory. The last match from the winners bracket was about to start; who would be the first finalist of the GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series 2019 | Online Qualifier 6?
HenryStark had a lot of 2-0 victories on his name this tournament and added an other one. With 2-0 he was to strong for Jkirek and was our first finalist. Jkirek got an other chance through the losers bracket to get to the final, a chance he used.
Final
Revenge is sweet as some may suggest, this was the opportunity for Jkirek for some payback and beat HenryStark. Unfortunately for Jkirek there was no redemption and again HenryStark won with 2-0. He gave it all and his hard work paid off. With this HenryStark was the winner of the GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series | Online Qualifier 6.
This is the first time we’ve had a winner of the GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series coming from Germany, herzlichen glückwunsch! With this HenryStark has also earned 5 points for the GamePros Hearthstone Championship Series ranking and has a shot to take part in the Grand Finals.

Conclusion
